Mentoring/Tutoring at Boca Ciega High School

We have several opportunities at Boca Ciega that can really make a difference in the life of our students:

  • Mentoring (will resume after winter break ends – January 9):
    • Sessions are held Monday through Thursday from 10:15-10:45am or 11:50 – 12:20 (student lunch hours).
    • Most mentors come weekly, but some alternate between in-person and virtual (we have a mentoring app)
    • Two programs:  Lunch Pals and Take Stock in Children (TSIC requires the student to comply with certain criteria (e.g., behavior, attendance, GPA)).
    • All Mentors need to:
  1. TSIC mentors have 2 more steps because it includes a college scholarship funded by the Pinellas Education Foundation.
  • Volunteering: We have a range of opportunities:
    • Work directly with students in our College and Career Center
      • Every weekday during school hours anytime between 8:00 am and 2:15 pm.
      • Support is provided for all grades around exploring careers and colleges, navigating the college application process, financial aid & scholarships
    • Chaperone field trips
    • Assist athletics coaches / ticket-taking
    • Clubs:
    • Volunteer at special events (e.g., Prom / Homecoming)

No experience is necessary, we will provide training and resources to help you feel confident.  Please call me with any questions.
