Office of Student Affairs seeking Student Assistants
The Student Affairs Office Assistant will interact with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public providing support for the operation of the office. The Office Assistant is expected to promote an atmosphere of professionalism and to be courteous and helpful. Office Assistants will serve as leaders, helpers and be resources for those who utilize the services of the department.
The Office of Student Affairs works with sensitive information; therefore, a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is necessary.
The student will assist with daily operations, including but not limited to:
- Greet guests/visitors
- Answer/field telephone calls
- Serve as a resource for questions
- Assist with developing projects
- Maintain a customer service friendly environment
- Assist with organizing office materials and maintaining the cleanliness of the office/kitchen
- Provide information on all departmental programing
- Assist with planning, advertising, taking RSVP and logistics for departmental programming
- Assist Student Affairs staff with special projects
- Other duties as assigned
• REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate should be energetic, organized, and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Good problem-solving skills, time management and communication skills
- Experience with Word, Excel, and database systems
- Anticipate schedule demands and manage time effectively
- Available hours are Tuesday 10:00am – 6:00pm, Thursday 10:00am – 5:00pm. Other hours may become available during the semester. Please apply to work partial shifts if you are not available to cover the entire shifts listed.
