Professor Hawkins is seeking a TA for the Professional Responsibility course for the Fall 2022 semester
The course is being taught via distance ed/on-line on T/Th from 3-4:25pm. The TA can either be paid per hour (up to 10 hours per week) or earn 2-course credits for the semester.
SUCOL requires all TAs to have earned at least a 3.0 in the course. In addition, Professor Hawkins prefers those who utilized the Lerman PR text (having been in her section of PR is not required).
If you are interested, please submit a cover letter, resume and an unofficial transcript asap ([email protected]). Professor Hawkins is reviewing apps on a rolling basis and has 1 slot left to fill.
As with past years, the TA is responsible for:
- taking daily class attendance via Quickly;
- collecting and reviewing the students’ Chapter Reflections (no longer weekly, but will be assigned after each chapter (to lessen the requirement));
- attending each class on T/Th 3-4:25pm on-line/distance ed (course materials: Lisa G. Lerman and Philip G. Schrag, ETHICAL PROBLEMS IN THE PRACTICE OF LAW (5th Ed., Wolters Kluwer 2020); Lisa G. Lerman, Philip G. Schrag and Anjum Gupta, ETHICAL PROBLEMS IN THE PRACTICE OF LAW: MODEL RULES, STATE VARIATIONS, AND PRACTICE QUESTIONS (2021/2022 edition, Wolters Kluwer);
- teaching 1 class during the semester;
- holding weekly office hours (3 hours) either on-line or in-person; and
- general course prep (various assignments).
This will total up to 10 hours of work per week. You will need to complete the SUCOL application process and file time sheets.
