Employee Affinity + Hobby Groups Interest Meeting
We recently announced an opportunity to engage with other employees via the creation of affinity or employee resource groups. An affinity/ERG group is a group of employees linked by a common purpose, identity or interest. They can play a vital role in ensuring an inclusive environment where community members feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
This first meeting will be a virtual Zoom meeting (click here) so that both campuses are able to participate on a larger scale. We realize that individual efforts may be formed on each campus and we look forward to those emerging energies as well!
In addition, we are looking for individuals willing to be group discussion leaders. Based on the HR Services Satisfaction Survey results, it appears there is interest in the following: Working Parents/Caregivers, LGBTQ+IA, and Hobby-based interest groups.
To create a welcoming experience for all, here are ways in which we can enhance and benefit the discussions:
- All are welcome
- Our stories are ours to tell; not yours to tell others
- Limit assumptions; you only see the tip of the iceberg
- Respect the process and more importantly, each other
