After reviewing the renewal checklist on Registering for and Requesting Accommodations – College of Law (stetson.edu) webpages, log in to your Accommodate Student Portal with your Stetson credentials to renew your accommodations request for SPRING 2024. (If you have not previously received ADA Accommodations and/or ESL Modifications and you want to submit a first-time request, please fill out theAccommodate Public Registration Form found on Stetson Law’s Accessibility Resources web page.)

Faculty Notice for Professors with Accommodated Students in Summer 2023:

Please be advised that Summer 2023 Professors will receive an initial survey from FACSEC on behalf of Accessibility Resources, IT, & the Registrar’s Office, collecting information concerning their schedules for quizzes and midterms. Following receipt of their responses, ADA Coordinator Kathryn Pelham will schedule individual meetings with each professor to discuss the procedures for proctors, rooms, technology, and material arrangements.
The only change from last semester is the wish to have individual meetings with professors rather than communicate solely through email and surveys. Accessibility Resources anticipates that these one-on-one meetings will benefit the professors and students in their care.

From the Student Perspective: Disability and Higher Education Webinar

From the Student Perspective: Disability and Higher Education

Tuesday, March 21, 2023 @ 4:00 PM EST via ZOOM

As we approach the 50th anniversary of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, it is important to pause and reflect on the last 50 years and take inventory of where we are now.

Explore the experience of disability with a panel of students who will share their experiences with disability, finding community on campus, barriers, and other experiences that disabled students know firsthand. Students will also have the space to share their hopes for the next 50 years and discuss what they wish higher education professionals knew in the present day.

Live captioning and ASL interpretation will be provided.

After reviewing the renewal checklist on Accessibility Resources webpages, log in to your Accommodate Student Portal with your Stetson credentials to renew your accommodations request for Fall 2022.  (If you have not previously received ADA Accommodations and/or ESL Modifications and you want to submit a first-time request, please fill out the Accommodate Public Registration Form found on Stetson Law’s Accessibility Resources web page. )

Students with accommodations or testing modifications must renew their request every term (Fall, Spring, Summer).  This gives Accessibility Resources time to work collaboratively to ensure every student receives their needed accommodations; the College of Law does not provide retroactive accommodations.  Here, you will see any accommodations you have been previously approved for and are currently eligible for renewal.

NOTE: Unless you receive a confirmation email from Accommodate that your request has been submitted, your request has not been properly submitted and you should reach out to the office of Accessibility Resources.  Once your request is submitted, Accessibility Resources will process your request and you will receive your letter of accommodation or testing modification.  It is from that date that accommodations will be in effect for the current term.

Don’t forget to notify the Accessibility Resources team of any midterms and quizzes for your classes by submitting Student Formative Assessment Survey.

**A testing modification for foreign students is not considered a disability accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act in accordance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and ADA Amendments Act of 2008, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504, as amended).
