All first-year law students are invited to join either or both sessions of our virtual View of Law Firm Life program. The programs are an opportunity to help 1Ls considering large firm summer programs by providing insights into about practicing law at Stinson, the firm’s well-being and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and our 1L summer associate positions.

Judicial Clerkship – Introduction and How To

A Judicial Clerkship serves as the capstone experience to your legal education. Post-graduate judicial clerkships are generally one- or two-year positions, although some are longer, that involve working closely with the judiciary. Judicial Clerks are found in almost all judicial chambers, and these positions range in their level of competitiveness. Serving as a Judicial Clerk after graduation is an incredible and highly prestigious opportunity to launch your career while gaining invaluable legal experience.

Christopher Tuite of the US Middle District of Florida (Tampa),  and the Hon. Grace Robson of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa. The panel chat and Q&A will be moderated by the Hon. Robin Rosenbaum of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

  • Peggy Browning Fund Summer Fellowships: Interested in advancing workers’ rights? Applications for PBF summer fellowships open November 8. Placement opportunities available at select labor unions, worker centers, and labor-related nonprofits across the country.
  • NACA Consumer Law Fellowships: NACA is offering 2-year consumer law fellowships to upcoming graduates who are expected to sit for the July 2025 Bar exam. There are 5 host organizations to choose from, including an opportunity with Jacksonville Legal Aid where the selected fellow will spend a year split between 2 Florida-based consumer protection law firms. The deadline to apply is January 1.

Reminder: Lunch & Learn Today with Miami State Attorney’s Office

Join Chief Assistant State Attorney Stephen K. Talpins for a presentation on Miami SAO’s Smart Justice program. The program focuses on addressing the root causes of crime, promoting rehabilitation over incarceration, and implementing diversion programs for eligible individuals to reduce recidivism and create safer communities. The event will be held today, Thursday, October 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Mann Lounge.

Lunch will be provided.

Gulfcoast Legal Services – Summer 2025 Fellowship

Gulfcoast Legal Services (GLS) is seeking to host up to two FFLA Summer Legal Aid Fellows in their Domestic Violence Family Law (DVFL) and Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) programs. Fellows will work directly with clients, providing crucial legal advocacy and helping to address significant challenges in their lives. This experience will offer students a deeper understanding of how legal aid organizations like GLS improve access to justice for underserved communities throughout the region.

Key Details:

  • Stipend: $9,000

ACLU-NBLSA Southern Legal Internship Program Webinar

About the Program: The Southern Legal Internship Program or SLIP is a unique collaboration between the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA). This summer internship will provide law students with invaluable experience working on impactful civil rights and social justice issues across the Southern United States. Interns will be placed at ACLU affiliates in the 13 states of the Southern Collective, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Students are able to note the specific states they are interested in working in.

FFLA Civil Legal Aid Summer Fellowship Application is now Open!

Funding Florida Legal Aid’s Civil Legal Aid Summer Fellowship application is now open. The program offers approximately 10 law students the opportunity to gain valuable legal experience at a qualified Florida non-profit legal aid organization for a 10-week full-time paid summer fellowship. Monetary stipends for students are $9,000.

  • Participating Organizations: 15+ organizations are participating, including, Americans for Immigrant Justice, Bay Area Legal Services, Gulfcoast Legal Services (GLS)**, Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida, Southern Legal Services, Florida Justice Institute, Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, and more!

  • Apply: Students may apply at https://form.jotform.com/FBFITDir/2025-ffla-sf-student-application.
  • Timeline: The application deadline is Nov. 1, and fellowship offers will be released in early December.
