Volunteer with Resettlement for Lutheran Social Services!

Resettlement for Lutheran Social Services of NE FL (“LSS”) is based out of the Jacksonville area. Our Resettlement team runs a robust refugee services program that traces its roots to the incorporation of our organization (40 years). This Reception & Placement Program (ABOUT R&P) provides support to refugees within their first 90 days of resettlement. Over the past 6 months, we have resettled over 300 Afghans in our community. We look forward to continuing our services by providing an option to permanency, through the asylum process.

In coordination with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, we are searching for volunteers to support us in the filing of asylum paperwork. We will be holding asylum clinics on April 30th, June 4th (tentative), and July 9th (tentative) in the Jacksonville area and are looking for pro bono attorneys and volunteer prelaw/law students to assist with documentation and completion of paperwork. LSS clients will be required to sign-up for the clinic and complete pre-screening documentation.
