Walk for PI – Nonlegal Pro Bono Opportunity

The Walk for PI is the Immune Deficiency Foundation’s annual fundraising event. The Immune Deficiency Foundation is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization that offers resources, education, and support for those living with Primary Immunodeficiency (PI), while partnering with clinicians and scientists to conduct research and promote public policy programs. The Immune Deficiency Foundation improves the diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for every person affected primary immunodeficiency and fosters a community that is connected, engaged, and empowered through advocacy, education, and research.

This year, the Walk for PI is on October 5 and will be at Zoo Tampa. All volunteers and participants in the Walk will receive free admission to Zoo Tampa for the day!

Students who wish to volunteer should expect to volunteer for about 4 hours (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM) and will be assigned various roles such as:

  • Registration: Welcoming and Registering Participants, receiving collection envelopes, having participants fill out waivers and handing out bib numbers and t-shirts.
  • Sponsor Guides: Welcoming Sponsors and leading them to their tables in the Sponsor Village.
  • Participant Greeter and Guide: Guiding participants to and from the Registration Table and Sponsor Village.
  • Cheerleaders and Sign Holders: Cheering on walkers along the walk route.
  • Clean up: Helping clean up the Sponsor Village area after the Walk has commenced.
  • TZ and TZ’s Guide: Dressing as the zebra mascot and guiding him around!
