Help Needed! Legal Pro Bono Volunteers – 10/24 & 10/25

Bay Area Legal Services (BALS) will be hosting a series of clinics throughout National Pro Bono Week.

Client Intake Clinic

Tuesday, October 24, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – George Edgecomb Courthouse (800 E. Twiggs St., Tampa, FL 33602)

9 law student volunteers currently needed for this event.

Volunteer attorneys will conduct the initial intake interview and volunteer law students would assist by sitting with the attorney and taking detailed notes (statement of facts) of the client’s legal issue. Issues will include family law, probate, real property, and more. No prior legal experience is needed. Great note-takers needed!

Bay Pines, Medical Legal Partnership Advance Directives Clinic

Wednesday, October 25, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Bay Pines VA Healthcare Campus (10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33744)

10 law student volunteers currently needed for this event.

Volunteer attorneys will assist veterans in completing advance directives (living will, designation of health care surrogate, pre-need guardian designation) documents. Volunteer law students can assist by providing additional support where needed, including filling out the forms with volunteer attorneys. No experience in estate planning or any area of law is necessary. Students can volunteer for all (9am-1pm) or part of the event: 9am-11am or 11am-1pm.
