The final week is so exciting but sad at the same time!
On Tuesday, we had a workshop on our resumes, and Joann and Abi took professional headshots for us to use. We came in at 12 pm, took our pictures, and then worked on our resumes. Abi and Joann gave us helpful comments on what to fix or change in our resumes, what works best, and what doesn’t. They also reviewed our LinkedIn profiles and provided feedback. It was so helpful, and I will definitely use all the feedback to my advantage.
After that, Kya and I started finishing up our project. We only needed to fix the audio, add behind-the-scenes footage, and review Joann’s second round of comments. Joann suggested adding some sound effects for a phone scene. Kya, our production intern, handled the audio in Adobe Audition. We then added the effects and behind-the-scenes footage with the credits at the end. Since we had everything planned out from Thursday, we finished up quickly. Dave helped us export it and ensured all the settings were correct. It took a while to export since it was a larger file in 4K quality. After that, I uploaded it to Frame.io for Joann to double-check before the screening. That was our last working day at Adrenaline.
On Thursday, we had a big screening for the entire Adrenaline Films team. Joann asked Kya and me to come in a bit earlier to adjust some minor sound issues. We arrived at 3:30, and Kya had already fixed everything, so we just needed to export it again. We finished just in time as people started gathering in the big stage area at 4 pm where they projected our short film/music video on the wall. Some of the people from our filming crew even came to watch, which was a pleasant surprise.
It was time to screen, and they even prepared popcorn for everyone. After watching it, we received a big round of applause, which was really rewarding. People loved it! Everyone kept coming up to us with compliments, and it was the best feeling. Kirah even made a movie poster for our project, and we all signed it and gave it to Adrenaline as a memorable gift. Joann prepared goodie bags and flowers for us, so we took pictures to capture the moment. After that, we chatted with the crew and some people from Adrenaline, which was so much fun.
After screening our project, Adrenaline hosted an international film night where they chose a film and paired it with matching food. This time, they chose a French film called “Petite Maman” and prepared crepes, which were really good. Interns were welcome to stay, so Kya, Kirah, and I stayed to watch the movie. It was a very unique and interesting film, and we enjoyed it very much. After that, we said goodbye to everyone we could and thanked them for everything they had done for us.
Our project will be part of our digital portfolios, and we will post it on social media. Adrenaline will also post it on their YouTube page! For now, It is available for everyone to see through this link: Supernovae.
It was such a fun day, and we got so many compliments. It was so rewarding to see that people liked what we made. It’s the best feeling, and it makes you want to create more and more! And that’s exactly what I’m going to do!
