The past couple of weeks of this internship have gone really well, I ended up creating content for Friday videos since they were taking a break from their podcast. Three of my videos have even gotten really high views. My video from April 20th has 308.8k views right now, video from April 21st has 27.6k views on TikTok. One of my videos on Instagram is at 40,042 views. This internship has really allowed me to practice creating videos for social media and trying different hashtags to see what gets the most views.
I am going to miss having this internship because I have really enjoyed being able to see the results on how the videos are doing. Having access to an account that has a big following and see the views.
This past week has been pretty uneventful, my two bosses have gone on a small hiatus for their podcast so I have been creating the content for Friday videos. This has given me more practice on creating the videos and narrowing down what gets the most views.
My past few videos have done really well view wise on Tik Tok and a few have done really well on Instagram. For some reason the views usually do better on Instagram because I have found that the algorithm for TikTok is very particular with what gets more views. I found that the best way to get the most views for TikTok is having the right hashtags.
This internship has really helped me realize how much I like working with social media and all the logistics that go into making a post. Having access to an account that has a big following and seeing the side of an account that I have never seen is really interesting.
These past two weeks of my internship have been really good, being able to continue to get in the swing of creating content has been really fun. My favorite part of this internship has been seeing how the videos do view-wise, overall videos usually do better on Instagram than on TikTok. I have had some videos that do equally well on both and it is just interesting to see how certain topics get a better turn out for views.
I chose to continue my posts during spring break as I decided to just keep posting as it luckily doesn’t take too much time out of my day to make the videos and create the Twitter and Facebook posts. Now that I dont have to worry about my senior project, I will have a little less stress on my shoulders which I am very thankful for.
Having this internship has really helped me learn how to make the right captions for social media and practicing my time management with other things going on in my life. This past week has been kind of rough with some health news about family but having this internship allows me to not think about it and continue my hard work.
This internship has really allowed me to practice with all the social media platforms and seeing the videos that do better than others. Last week was a bit of a rough one as i have slowly been getting a little overwhelmed with all the different things going on in my life lately so I accidentally posted the wrong video for twitter and forgot to post the video for the Facebook post, but thankfully my advisor was super understanding and made sure that she just reminded me to make sure that I put the specific Twitter video and adding the video onto Facebook which I remembered for this weeks podcast post.
I also got to deal with having to take a video down as it ended up being harmful for autistic people. I made the video from one of the stories that was posted about a little girl who “suffered” from autism and we were able to get a very understanding comment on the post explaining how hurtful it is to say someone struggles with autism or how someone is non-verbal doesn’t mean that are able to interact in other forms. Having this happen has really allowed me to be extra conscious to make sure that whatever I create, I am not offending anyone. My advisor reached out to me saying she was taking the videos down and that it was not my fault as she usually likes to look over the stories before they go up but she was not able to.
This week I finally was able to practice writing captions for the Monday and Friday posts which are Missing Monday and then on Fridays is promoting their podcast. It has been fun being able to think of what would have the information needed for viewers to get a good synopsis of what the podcast is about and what will make people click on the link.
Thankfully my boss is really easy to get in contact with if I have any questions. From last week, I was able to ask her what kind of cover she would want for the instagram reels and if she wanted me to use the same on as TikTok. Link to TikTok site: https://www.tiktok.com/@murdermurdernews
I am still getting the hang of what is the best to have for the caption for the twitter posts regarding the podcasts because you only get 140 characters and I want to make sure I put the right information in the post. We use a website called Buffer when I can pre plan the posts and it is very helpful because she can also see the posts before they go up and if I need to change anything.
The first two weeks of my internship have gone really well, I started a week late due to my advisor got sick so she wanted to wait till she was better for me to start. I was able to make some practice TikTok’s to get an understanding of how she wanted the videos to look like.
Being able to get an understanding of what will get the best results for getting views. Being in charge of posting for FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok for a page that has a decent following has been really interesting and seeing what is popular and what isn’t.
The first couple videos I created, didn’t do the best but then I found that the videos have been doing better on Instagram than on TikTok. Being able to choose which story to create a video has allowed me to create something that I am interested in. I can finally say that I am in the swing of knowing what to post on what day and what information to add on the post.
Putting your skills to work.
