TOP TEN BOOKS AND VIDEOS
Curious about what people are reading and watching? Check out the Top Ten Books and the Top Ten Videos that people have checked out of the duPont-Ball Library over the past decade. STETSON DIGITAL ARCHIVES Have you checked out the library's Digital Archives? Just click on ARCHIVES at the top of the library's home page to see thousands of photographs, postcards, memorabilia items, and special collections housed in the library's Archives Department. The collection grows weekly and we are in the process of adding fully searchable copies of pre-1931 yearbooks, students newspapers, Bulletins, and View Books. If you would like photos from your event included in the digital archives, contact Sue Ryan, sryan@stetson.edu. The digital archives is intuitive to search, but a five page Quick Guide is available to make your searching more efficient. HAVE YOU USED THE LIBRARY'S E-BOOKS? 45,000 e-books are available to you 24-7 via the Ebrary Books database. Find Ebrary Books by clicking on the Database button at the top of the library's home page; it is listed both in the alphabetical list of databases and in the right column under "General Databases." You can read and print the documents from any computer. Some advanced functions, such as highlighting, note-taking, and saving your work require a one-time download of the ebrary reader. Just follow the screen prompts if you want to use those features. See the Ebrary Help if you have questions, or ask a librarian. NEW COMPUTERS IN THE LIBRARY The library has replaced 11 of its oldest computers with new high-end PCs installed along the south wall. Funding for these workstations was provided by a library donor in response to students' requests that library computers be upgraded. Enjoy the increased speed! READ REVIEWS OF NEW BOOKS ON THE LIBRARY'S BLOG The library is posting reviews of a few of the most interesting new books we receive. Read our blog and you might find something interesting to read. If you want to submit a review, we're happy to post it. Just email Debbi Dinkins (ddinkins@stetson.edu). Become a follower of the Stetson Library Book a Day on Twitter to get a book title suggestion each day. PRINTING FROM LIBRARY COMPUTERS As part of our effort to support student research needs, we offer free unlimited printing. We do ask, however, that if you print for non-academic or commercial purposes, you pay 10 cents per page at the front desk. And... please think green!
