At the start of each academic year, the duPont-Ball Library has traditionally held our Fall Reception to spotlight faculty members who are promoted and/or gain tenure, as well as those who have published a book in the previous academic year. Although we are not able to hold the event in person this year, we still want to celebrate their achievements! To that end, we have created the 2020 Virtual Fall Faculty Reception page.

Every promoted or tenured faculty member is given the opportunity to add a book to the library’s permanent collection. They can be books that inspired them as undergrads, that informed their teaching style, that got them into their fields in the first place, or that they simply enjoyed a lot in the past year. On this page, you can see all of the faculty honorees, the books they chose, and their explanations for what makes each book meaningful to them. In this small way, we want to honor and celebrate the contributions of these faculty (with the hope that perhaps in future years we can toast them properly in person).
