Vote on the Fall duPont-Ball Book Club book!

The duPont-Ball Book Club is returning this fall, and you get to decide what book we’ll read! Take a look at the descriptions in the poll, then vote for your favorite here. The winner with the most votes by this weekend will be available for free for the first 15 people to sign up for the book club, who will then come to the library to discuss it later in the semester!

Library Hours for Hurricane Dorian

Announcements

During the upcoming weekend the library will observe the following hours due to Hurricane Dorian:

  • Friday 30 August: Regular hours,  8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • Saturday 31 August – Monday 2 September: CLOSED

The library will reopen whenever the University deems it safe. This will depend on a variety of factors, most notably whether or not the library has power. A new announcement will be posted here on the website when the date of the reopening is known.

Please follow all University and NHC advisories about the storm, and stay safe!

Professors: Schedule Library Instruction

Faculty members: Librarians are available to support your students’ information literacy learning needs.

  • Please contact Grace Kaletski-Maisel if you’d like to schedule a library instruction session that will be tailored to your class and assignment. Please schedule at least one week in advance.

  • If a full instruction session is not the right fit for your class, fill out a Request Information Literacy Support form to learn more about the variety of other ways we can support student learning in your courses.

  • Additionally, please consider including information about the duPont-Ball Library’s Ask a Librarian reference service in your syllabi. Here’s a sample blurb that you are welcome to copy and paste:

    Research librarians at the duPont-Ball Library are available to help you with all of your information needs, such as choosing a topic, using databases, finding sources, evaluating sources, and formatting citations. A librarian is “on-call” and ready to help during the following hours: Monday-Thursday 10 AM-10 PM, Friday 10 AM-5 PM, Saturday 11 AM-6PM, and Sunday 2 PM-10 PM.
